Dr Wendy Cheung

Dr. Wendy Cheung is a Lecturer and Course Coordinator in Paediatric Dentistry at the Adelaide Dental School. She earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (2000), Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (2001), and Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Paediatric Dentistry (2008) from the University of Adelaide. Dr. Cheung has served as an examiner for the Australian Dental Council (ADC) and continues to be actively involved in their examination processes. She was Secretary of the South Australian branch of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Dentistry for many years, and has contributed as a reviewer for peer-reviewed journals in public health and dentistry. She is also a former Paediatric Dentistry Consultant at the Adelaide Women's and Children's Hospital.

Dr. Wendy Cheung has been involved in clinical teaching and lecturing since 2001, contributing to research at the Australian Research Centre for Population Oral Health (ARCPOH). She has continued clinical practice at SA Dental Service and the Adelaide Women's and Children's Hospital, alongside many years in private practice.
With a strong interest in supporting neurodivergent and special needs children, Dr. Cheung was awarded the ADAF Wrigley Grant in 2013, 2014, and 2015 for her research focused on improving oral health care for autistic children and those with special needs. Her research interests also include dental trauma, emergency care in paediatric dentistry, dental materials, dental anxiety, and communication.
Dr. Cheung has completed Advanced Training in Clinical Hypnosis and is a member of the South Australian Society of Hypnosis, offering holistic care to all her patients.
